Aboriginal cultural awareness. Prospectus for BCIA workshop
Since first being requested to develop and present an Aboriginal Cultural Awareness workshop to Federal government employees, Global Indigenous Services has been presenting customized workshops to a wide range of clients.
- The overall intent of the Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Workshops is to introduce the concept of cultural differences, to provide accurate and relevant information regarding First Nations of BC and to share the knowledge and experience of the facilitators with attendees. The goals are to develop a thorough understanding of historical and contemporary Aboriginal issues, interests, beliefs and aspirations to provide the necessary background to build effective, long term and mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal peoples. In essence the objectives of the workshop extend beyond creating awareness to a far deeper level of understanding about the journey of Aboriginal People in Canada.
